Asian Double Eyelid Surgery
Asian Blepharoplasty, or double eyelid surgery, can be used to create a fold in the area above the eyelashes to form a natural-looking crease. As with many patients of Dr. John T. Cozzone and Dr. Luis A. Zapiach, those individuals considering double eyelid surgery are hoping to achieve a better balance between their physical appearance and their self-confidence.
From local anesthesia and oral sedation to the initial recovery period, the on-site procedure for double eyelid surgery takes about two hours, with the actual surgery time taking up nearly an hour therein. Our New Jersey plastic surgeons employ an external incision technique that can reliably produce a crisp crease in the eyelid, placed and shaped to your ultimate goals.

ASIAN EYELID SURGERY RECOVERY
Though the procedure is performed differently, recovery after asian eyelid surgery is similar to that of traditional blepharoplasty. Following surgery, post-operative side effects commonly include mild pain, swelling, and bruising, though these symptoms should resolve over time. Sutures are typically removed four or five days after the procedure. While most patients can usually resume limited activity the day after surgery, more strenuous activities should be avoided for a week to ten days, with normal routines typically resumed within a few weeks.
Please contact our New Jersey cosmetic surgeons if you have any further questions or concerns regarding Asian eyelid surgery.
